Beach Haven and South Beach Haven: LBI Summer Playgrounds

Beach Haven located on LBI known for it's beautiful beaches,fine restaurants and night clubs. Enjoy a summer evening an old fashioned band concert in the Veterans' Bicentennial Park, or a Broadway show at the Surflight Theatre. One may also go back in time and savor the character of a late 19th century coastal resort town by taking a walking or drive-by tour of buildings constructed before 1900. Each is marked with a white plaque inscribed in blue, "Bicentennial, Pre-1900."
South Beach Haven on the New Jersey Shore is located just south of the resort community of Beach Haven. Even so, many consider this neighborhood to be part of the larger community of Holgate. It's separate identity comes from the fact that South Beach Haven is an area of summer homes built mostly after the 1950's offering beach house rentals from that era, many of which have been renovated and/or enlarged to accommodate a comfortable and contemporary family vacation.
Nearby activities of Long Beach Island and this neighborhood include childrens theater, kayaking, motor boating,jet skiing,basketball courts,tennis courts, steam boat rides, markets, restaurants,and tea rooms.Adults will be interested that South Beach Haven is one hour from Atlantic City and their children happy to know that its a short walk or bike ride to Fantasy Island in Beach Haven town center.
As with most other Long Beach Island summer towns, many houses are ocean front and allow vacationers the luxury of stepping off the porch of their vacation rental directly on to a sandy beach for a barefoot walk to the ocean.
